Talking About Flowers and Bouquets

Hi there, my name is Leo. Welcome to my website about flowers and bouquets. Throughout my childhood, we lived next to a large field full of flowers. My siblings and I would run into the field and pick a variety of flowers to arrange in a beautiful bouquet. Needless to say, our dinner table always had a handpicked flower centerpiece that brightened up the house. I will use this site to talk about the various flowers suited for bouquet arrangements. I will share my knowledge about creating beautiful bouquets using materials you likely already have at home. Please visit my site again soon to learn more.

Give Terracotta Planters A Second Life With Some Clever Crafting Ideas

When you find a great deal on terracotta planters from area flower shops and garden vendors, stock up. Consider replacing and repurposing old pots from your own landscaping projects into unique art projects that give these items a second life. Terracotta pots are inexpensive, resilient, and perfect for these simple crafting ideas, and often are something you have on hand from potted plants and arrangements that you have been gifted.

Some clever ways to repurpose and enhance terracotta planters in your home are:

A beacon in the night. A very simple and satisfying project is to make a garden lighthouse by inverting terracotta pots on top of one another. Use the largest pot on the bottom, and gradually add smaller pots that fit over the preceding until you have a small tower. Use spray sealant to protect the finish, and paint in bright lighthouse colors; stick a solar stake light in the very top pot, through the drainage hole and glue to secure.

Simple storage cubby. You can make a very useful storage vessel with terracotta pots and the terracotta saucers that are used underneath to collect drainage. Paint the pot in whatever color you choose, and use a saucer that fits snugly inside the lip of the open end of your pot; paint this saucer to use as the storage cubby lid. Glue a handle on the top of the saucer for easy access to the storage cavity.

Clever cupcake server. If you have several saucers, you can make a cute cupcake server out of two or three small pots. Start with a saucer, and center the inverted pot on top, gluing it to secure snugly. Add another saucer and the next inverted pot; each pot added creates height while the perimeter of the saucers is where you would arrange your cupcakes. Finish with an inverted pot and paint the entire thing in vibrant colors or with a holiday motif.

Homey holiday bells. Maybe the simplest project of all has a holiday flavor; create homey and rustic holiday bells from an inverted pot with a handle glued securely in the drainage hole. This replicates the shape of a bell; add plastic greens, mistletoe, balsam, and ribbon with some glue around the base of the handle.

Use these ideas as inspiration for your own unique crafting ideas; terracotta pots are so versatile and they make the perfect building-blocks for many clever projects. Repurpose the pots that your arrangements and potted plants are in or that you have received from area flower shops, and try one of these projects.
